The local marine community was out in force on Saturday, August 25 for the Annual Mission to Seafarers' Cycling for Seafarers. Showing great support for the Mission's work as well as for the seafarers who visit the Port of Vancouver, riders -- including individuals, families and corporate teams -- chose 20, 40, 60 or 100-kilometre routes for a fun ride through the streets of Vancouver and Richmond.
Reverend Peter Smyth, Senior Chaplain, provided the following message: "On behalf of everyone at the Mission to Seafarers in Vancouver, BC a big thank you goes to all the corporate sponsors and individuals for your support. This financial support will enable the Mission to continue the work of caring for the seafarers in VFPA. The good food and good company made it a fun event with cyclists able to stretch their legs for a good cause. Already looking forward to 2019 (www.flyingangel.ca)."
